| Park near the Wharf inn, Shebdon. This is out of the village turn left and about a mile you come to the pub. Walkup the ramp to the Shropshire Union Canal towpath and turn right. You will see the Shebdon Winding Hole immediatly on your left. Continue for about 1.5m until you come to the Anchor inn this is an award-winning pub. Go up on the bridge (no. 42) and turn right towards High Offley Church. After passing Pegs Farm on your right you can see High Offley Church. When you see a public footpath sign on your right with a very high stile go over and follow the power lines till you reach a rickety stile. Turn left along the road and then left again at the T-junction signposted to Shebdon. High Offley Church is now on your left, we sheltered here when we were caught in a wonderful downpour. Even if are not caught in the rain the Church Yard is well worth a look and there is a lovely seat to have a rest in the courtyard. Continue down the road and over a small stream and past a farm with a green barn roof set back from the road. When you come to the signpost for Shebdon continue forward to a public Bridleway with holly bushes both sides. When you reach the road turn left and immediately left along the footpath at Offley Grove Farm. Go through the gate. Here look to you left when we were here they had two pot bellied pigs in the field. Go through two more gates, then straight on along the edge of the field keeping the hedge to your right. You shortly see a small copse to the right. The Track bears left along the edge of the field and you see the twin towers of the Knighton Factory on your left. This factory was used to make milk products and they would then transport the goodies on the canal to various destinations. After going up and down a small rise turn right and cross over the footbridge. You emerge at a man-made fishery. Go to your right and climb up the hill keeping the house to your right pass by it and climb the stile to the road. At the road turn left and then right along a wide track. At the junction turn left and going over a bridge to rejoin the canal towpath. You will pass the back of the knighton Factory and as you pass the warf think about the horse drawn narrow boats that went as far as the Cadburys factory at Bournville. Walk for about 1.1m along the straight embankment section of the Canal to bring you back to the Wharf Inn at Shebdon.
